Italian combo Poboy is top-notch! Was my second time getting it, and will probably be my go to dish at this restaurant! We also tried the fried shrimp and the softshell crab, and both were the best I've had in a long time. My only complaint is service seems to be a bit slow, but it's probably because they are always so busy!

Excellent food, ambiance and service. Great place to go to with my large family! Shrimp remoulade salad is outstanding and the shrimp po-boys are the best.

Today was a solid 4 stars. The service was mostly great, which I was hoping for as our server's tag said she was the manager. Food came out at a decent pace, though she was surprised my kid's meals had yet to be delivered which she remedied quickly. We go to R&O every trip to New Orleans. The roast beef poboy just wasn't as good as it used to be. The meat was a bit tough and the bottom bread way to soggy when I received it. Hubs enjoyed his R&O special since it had more ham than he remembered it having. Onion rings were solid. The vegetable and beef soup is one of the best I had (and the only thing I was able to eat there when pregnant 14 years ago).

This is a great spot that still has an old school New Orleans vibe. Our waitress was a little curt but very charming and helpful. Her recommendation for the Italian Combo po-boy was spot on. One of the best po-boys I've had in New Orleans. I loved the way they sliced the Italian sausage on the po-boy very thin. So it does not overpower the meatball which was great in its own right. This place is a true Bucktown institution that is still putting out great food.

Gumbo and Italian Salade is amazing! I thought the flavors of the two make a perfect meal.

The Italian salad is full of flavor and is obviously a huge favorite, as we saw several tables that ordered this salad. It's only for those who love their salad absolutely drenched in Italian dressing. The lettuce and other veggies are literally swimming in the dressing, and most of the lettuce gets a bit soggy even when it's first brought to you. The roast beef po-boy is very good. Bread is phenomenal, but the beef is a bit too salty. Service was good with a reasonable pace and speed. Ambiance is extremely casual and family friendly, so it's a very relaxing and fun place to hang out and enjoy a meal. The prices are on the high side, but the portions are large for most items.

Best only I have had in NOLA. the soft shell crab and their signature poboys were amazing. And their onion straws/rings were amazing too!

Can I just say ditto? My last review of R&O, basically says it all....they never disappoint. The wife and I visited today, we split a whole Roast beef poboy and a basket of onion rings. I don't know what the gravy they cook the roast beef in and use on the sandwich is made of..but man you could bottle it and sell it, it's just that good.

This place is just pure fun. It's old school and feels great. The food is well done and exceeds the price point. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome and well attended. Overall, it's got the right kind of vibe for a fun neighborhood place. Definitely worth a stop.
